Back in Coire An t-Sneachda today for a crack at the classic Fingers Ridge (IV, 4). The routes were all still well buried which meant long run outs were the order of the day. We climbed a thin variation on Pitch 2, which gave 20m of grade V, before rejoining the ridge where it narrows. The route was busy today but very sociable as we were sheltered from the wind until we arrived on the plateau.
The winds eased throughout the morning but strengthened again towards the evening. There was plenty of snow being redistributed around the Corie. The crag apron was fairly loaded to about a third height but the upper slopes has been well scoured. Despite the obvious risk there were several teams on the Goat Track. The approach slopes to the Mess of Pottage were similarly potentially hazardous.
