With the freezing level forecast to drop we headed back in to
Coire An t-
Sneachda and went to have a look at The Message (IV, 6). The snow was well frozen on the walk in and the route had obviously seen a few ascents over the past few days as it didn't require too much clearing. The usual crux, stepping left from the top chimney, gave good placements with reasonable protection. However the crux today was exiting the lower chimney which succumbed to a powerful can opener!
The corrie was extremely busy today with teams heading in all directions. Over on the Mess the
Haston Line, Jacobs Ladder and Pot of Gold all saw ascents. The lower temperatures have produced some brilliant climbing conditions and most of the classic routes have now seen a number of ascents making them easier to protect and climb.
