Everest & Muztag Ata

Everest from the summit of Cho Oyu (8201m).

I've just managed to finalize my plans for a couple of big expeditions in the next year. I'm leading a team on Muztag Ata in China this August for Adventure Peaks. This is one of the easier 7000m peaks although at over 7500m it's a big physical undertaking. Technically it could be described as steep winter walking and it is regularly skied although there is some crevasse danger. The route follows a broad spur to the large summit plateau which offers good views over to K2 and the Karakoram. It's an ideal mountain for those who are interested in moving on to the 8000m peaks
In spring 2011 I'm co-leader on a big expedition to the North East Ridge of Everest, again for Adventure Peaks. Everest receives it's fair share of negative publicity but the highest mountain in the world at 88848m still exerts a powerful pull on many climbers and it's a unique enviroment in which to work.
Both these trips still have places so if you are interested in joining please get in contact with Adventure Peaks in Ambleside.
