After a couple days of paperwork it was nice to be out on the Lakeland fells again. The heavy snow of yesterday had left High Pike and Carrick Fell looking absolutely stunning although it was pretty hard going at times with drifts up to a meter deep in places. An icy crust had formed on the tops along with some very impressive sastrugi.
