The Trust will award an annual £1000 grant to help fund expeditions to the Greater Ranges. They welcome applications from aspiring Greater Ranges climbers who need help to fund expeditions with the objective of establishing new routes, repeating rarely attempted lines, or visiting unexplored areas.
The Trust will also provide assistance to candidates who are undertaking the British Mountain Guides scheme. This will be in the form of a £200 per candidate reduction on the avalanche training part of the guides scheme each year. The Trust will work directly with the British Mountain Guides association to give this reduction.
In the last couple of years of his life, Chris developed a real passion for skiing, especially off-piste. He attended a couple of courses run by the British Alpine Ski School (BASS) and to ensure Chris’s passion for skiing is still felt on these courses, and to assist individuals with similar aspirations to Chris, BASS are offering annually a free place on their ‘Ski Performance Course for Mountaineers’.
