Classic Routes & Soggy Ice

After a day off to repair bodies and kit we headed back up in to Coire An t-Sneachda. The temperature was above freezing and the cloud was down but we persevered and made a good ascent of Fluted Buttress Direct (IV, 5 ***). The ice was fairly wet but improved with height with the crux being thin moves just below the start of the chimney.

There were plenty of other teams out and about. We couldn't see much but Wavelength and the Seam were both climbed. A team also visited Stag Rocks on skis and came away with an ascent of the Cascade (V, 5) which was described as very fat with three routes possible.
