Bog cotton on the slopes of Ullscarf. With only a short time until my expedition to Khan Tengri I've been ramping up the training in the last couple of weeks. This evening I managed to tick off five new Wainwrights on a very runnable loop from Stonethwaite - Grange Fell, Great Crag, Ullscarf, Sergeant's Crag and Eagle Crag - in just shy of three hours. Despite the drought the plateau was still very boggy but there are plenty of trods to make the going pretty easy. Apart from a couple of campers I had the hills to myself with some great views the length of the Lakes from Derwent Water to Windermere.
