Wet tooling on Onich Slab!This week I'm working on an Intro to Snow & Ice Climbing course for Adventure Peaks. With more wet snow falling on a strong south westerly wind we opted to stay in the valley and headed round to the Onich Slab to work on dry tooling and movement skills. This afternoon was spent on the ice wall at the Ice Factor perfecting the techniques required for steep ice including the placing of ice screws. We were also able to have a look at winter stance management and changeovers in the comfort of the climbing wall. All in all a very successful day despite the conditions.
